Tamera has been a mathematics educator in the Yakima Valley for close to twenty years. She embraces teaching mathematics with the enthusiasm and compassion needed to inspire and motivate students to build a fundamental appreciation for the necessity of mathematics in their world. Tamera believes every student can learn and is deeply committed to helping students build ownership in the learning process. In addition to helping students, she has built a solid reputation as a faculty coach/mentor for scholarship of teaching and learning projects on the HU campus. Tamera embraces life-long learning as a practice and demonstrates her expertise on and off campus, sharing research-based strategies for student- centered instruction in mathematics. In her spare time, Tamera can be found happily working on her hobby farm or curled up in a corner reading a book.
