The CRESCENT Program aims to strengthen the institutional capacity in the Yakima Valley for increasing the enrollment, retention, and graduation of underrepresented minority students with degrees in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM).
We provide innovative opportunities for students to improve their education, enhance transferable skills, and contribute to the regional and national need for a diverse and competent STEM workforce to address societal challenges of the 21st Century.
The CRESCENT program goal, similar to the phases of the moon, is to support students through their STEM educational pathways beginning in high school continuing through college, and culminating in graduate school and/or careers.
